The only slight problem with the reports on several sites about the asteroid is that they aren't true.
The truth is this
"At a distance of nearly 32 million miles (51 million kilometers) from Earth, this pass will not bring it particularly close. The trajectory of 2016 WF9 is well understood, and the object is not a threat to Earth for the foreseeable future."
But who cares about the truth any more hey?

Far Cough, there are some grey areas around the classifications but essentially asteroids don't have coma.
For it to have a coma, it would need to be a Comet (ice and dust) with the coma being the ice and dust sublimating into space as it approaches the sun. Note: Some comets don't have coma.
Asteroids are rocky so don't have the same coma.

Afm, because there is some doubt as to whether this object is an asteroid or a comet, that's why I quoted "asteroid", some scientists say it behaves like a comet
